Volunteer
Part of what makes an event like this possible is the team of people behind the scenes, working hard to serve those who will be attending, to make this the best, most unforgettable training experience of their ministry year.

NEW THIS YEAR: CBOQ Youth INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
So much more is “caught rather than taught!” Hands-on learning is the learning that we remember best, and to that end, CBOQ Youth is offering an internship program that are highly practical in nature, coupled with on-the-job teaching and debriefing. This pilot project is open to students in a youth-focused program (e.g. Bible college, teacher’s college, Child Youth Worker program, etc.), those starting out in professional youth ministry or volunteers in youth-related ministries (e.g. church-based ministries, parachurch ministries, camps, etc.). While the program is run by CBOQ Youth, candidates are not required to be a member at a CBOQ church. For more information, click here.
FAQs
Why should I pay to be an intern when I can volunteer for free?
Education is an investment (see your post-secondary tuition fees). As such, the internship fee covers a portion of the program expenses. Interns will not only be participating and helping with the logistics of CYWC, They will be guided through the experience to gain insights specifically into the coordination and execution of such an event, and to consciously transfer those skills back to their local context.
What is the difference in workload between an intern and a volunteer?
Many of the work assignments will be similar for both an intern and a volunteer. The main difference is the added learning component both from the internship coordinator as well as the peer-to-peer learning that naturally evolves.
Can I get credit for this internship?
Credit transferability to post-secondary institutions has not yet been established.
Why is CBOQ Youth running this?
CBOQ Youth has an internship strategy within its denominational youth ministries whether it’s through some of their events and through Canadian Baptist cross-regional exchanges. CBOQ Youth has offered this to CYWC as a pilot project to see if it would be a benefit both to the participants as well as CYWC.
