The Ones Who Made It! Teens Who Stuck it Out to Adulthood

Much has been written about young adults leaving the church in droves. Further study shows that many checked out years before they hit college or university. What about the ones who stayed? How did they stick to their faith and their church when the others bailed? How did they beat the odds and make the transition to young adults as a church member? What did their youth groups and churches do to retain them over the long haul? There are some common threads in their stories. In this session we will look at some of these encouraging stories of resilience. We will examine the internal and external factors that played a key role in students’ continued commitment to Christ and explore ways to implement effective changes to reduce the mass exodus of senior highs and young adults.
